Our staff members have spent many years devoted to pursuing excellence in their field and have attained a certain level of expertise to qualify them as instructors and trainers.

Rob is a retired US navy/ Army reserve veteran. His certifications include ACE certified AAAF certified and ISSA certified in personal training. Rob has been involved in the exercise industry for over 15 years including 5 years in amateur Boxing and 3 years in amateur body building. Rob is currently attending UMUC studying for his psychology major. After, he plans to attend UMD for his masters in Kinesiology.

James is a NPTI Certified Personal Trainer, AAAI Personal Trainer, and NPTI Certified Nutritional Consultant. James has been involved in fitness for 20 years. His specialty areas include martial arts (Kung Fu and Muay Thai) and combat sports. James is a Defensive Tactics Instructor involved in the development and training of Police officers and amateur boxers. James was a law enforcement officer for 20 years. James is available for all types of personal training including the Boxing Program.

Donovan Pearson  (Personal Trainer/Group Exercise Instructor)  Send E-mail to Donovan Pearson
Donovan is a NFPT Personal Trainer, NFPT Advanced Nutrition Certified, ACE Group Exercise Instructor, and Schwinn Indoor Cycling Instructor. He has been training clients for 15 years in a variety of disciplines including weight training, yoga, spinning, and nutrition. Donovan is known for his innovative training techniques and getting people to their goals! Look for variety and constantly changing and evolving exercise routines to ensure continual progress and alleviate boredom.

LaShawn (Nubia) Foster  (Belly Dancing Instructor)
LaShawn was introduced to Belly Dance during a dance work shop and has been in love with the dance ever since. She is a dedicated study of the dance and contributes her accomplishments to her supportive dance coach and mentor Venezia. Her studies include Traditional Dance, Hip Hop Belly Dance and Tribal Fusion, which she has had the pleasure of studying under Ms. Marta Bohorquez, former co-director DC Tribal. Her passion for the dance has led her to encourage others in learning this beautiful ancient art form.

Venise (Venezia) Grey  (Belly Dancing Instructor)
Venise Grey known in the Oriental Dance or “Belly Dance world” as Venezia is a native of Washington, DC and was an original Member of the MoorHips Dance Company.During her growth within the Tribal Belly dance art form, Venezia began to combine Belly Dance with her other passion Hip-Hop. She created a style Hip-Hop Belly dance by combining traditional belly dance moves with "old and new skool" hip-hop moves. Venezia helped organize the BellyDancers of Color Association (BOCA) and the National Belly Dance Conference “BOCAFEST” held annually every year in the DC area. . As a member of MoorHips and as a solo dancer, she has performed in the DC and Baltimore area for numerous community and private events. She also has traveled throughout the U.S. and Caribbean teaching Belly dance workshops and classes.

Venise (Venezia) Grey

Charlene Powers  (Group Fitness Instructor)
Deciding that it was time to reach her optimal fitness level and goal weight, Charlene Powers hired a personal trainer in 2000. In 10 months, she shed 50 pounds. After maintaining her weight loss for a year, she decided to encourage others to do the same and sought a part-time career as a group fitness instructor. Since that time, Charlene has become a certified fitness instructor in: Reebok Cycling (Spinning), Body Pump, Body Sculpt, Body Vive, and Water Aerobics. She also has expertise in conducting Core Boot camp, and Senior Fitness classes. Most recently, her love for dancing and cardiovascular exercise inspired to begin teaching a Cardio Line Dance class. In response to the youth obesity crisis, Charlene hopes to become involved in initiatives that focus on improving healthy eating and exercise in children. For over 10 years, Charlene has been participating in area races as both a walker and runner. Of the various races, the one she most cherishes is the Baltimore Marathon which she successfully completed in 2005. In 2009, she intends to run the Marine Corps Marathon.

Anna Hernandez  (Zumba Instructor)
Anna's qualifications are as follows - Licensed to teach Zumba

"I love dancing and I love music! Zumba is a great way of enjoying both and getting a good work out. I encourage my friends and family to try it all the time. Jennifer Terry  (Group Fitness Instructor)
As a Fitness Professional, and Group Exercise Instructor Jennifer Terry, personifies versatility in fitness instruction. Currently the Wellness Class Manager for Arlington County Parks and Recreation, Jennifer has developed and marketed several new recreation and leisure programs. Possessing current AHA, AFAA, AAAI, IFTA, PCC, and The Step Company group fitness instructor certifications, Jennifer teaches a plethora of classes such as Resist-a-Ball, Pilates, kickboxing, step, cycle, core, mommy & me, and many other formats. Jennifer's educational background is extensive: with a B.S. degree in Sport’s Medicine, she has dedicated a year to an internship at The Stanley County Family YMCA in North Carolina as a fitness director assistant.

An avid gym-goer, Monique (also known as Mo) has been in the fitness field professionally for 6 years. She loves teaching fun, hard-work and motivating classes to all who enter her class. She is NAFTA certified personal trainer, cycle (spin) and power pump instructor.

Chelsea Eberle  (Kidz Korner)
Chelsea has over three years experience with children ranging from ages 18m to 12 years. She is CPR certified/ First Aid. She loves kids and enjoys helping them with homework and light exercise.
